Maiker Uplands | Westminster, CO

Inclusive Affordable Housing on the Park

Description

The Maiker Uplands project is a four-story infill project in the Uplands neighborhood, Westminster’s largest remaining open space. The project will incorporate a Headstart early learning space at the ground level. 70 total units feature balconies or patios at every unit, a fitness area at the ground level, a community laundry room at every level, as well as rooftop deck and multipurpose on the fourth floor with western-facing mountain views. The project will also frame and overlook the new public park directly east of the building along Decatur Street. A quarter of the units meet The Kelsey Design Standards for inclusion and disability-forward housing creation.

An on-site publicly-accessible sensory park space at the corner of Decatur Street and West 88th Avenue will feature plants that celebrate the senses of sight, scent, and touch. An outdoor public courtyard will allow residents access to relaxed seating, public art installations, and musical instruments under festoon lighting. Other various amenities include twenty bicycle parking spaces, a dog park, community garden, and an outdoor grill.
