All-Electric Affordable Housing is One Step Closer to Reality in San Jose

Posted on: April 8, 2021

Affirmed Housing Group just received ministerial approval for 79 units of service-enriched affordable housing and office space at 3090 South Bascom Avenue in San Jose. The proposed building is all-electric with PV panels offsetting most of the tenant load. The 3090 South Bascom team is collaborating with a local artist to create one of the key elements of the building. The proposed artwork will integrate into the lobby glazing and will be visible from the street, lobby, and courtyard.

Thanks to our design team for their ongoing collaboration; Affirmed Housing Group, Jett Landscape Architecture+Design, BKF Engineers, DCI Engineers, Emerald City Engineers, Inc., Redwood Energy, Bright Green Strategies, Millennium Design & Consulting, Inc., Wilson Ihrig, RDH Building Science and the VMWP team: Fred Pollack, Pam Goode, Jeremy Stock, David Gregory, and Camille Lo.
