Description
The commercial renovation project constitutes a 476 sf addition to Minnehaha Area Childcare, located at 5712 Cedar Avenue S. The goal of the project is to enhance the existing facility with better security for the children, families, and staff that come together at this facility. The existing two story building is configured around a split level entry without a lobby or elevator resulting in no accessible path to the front door and existing offices on the second floor without a line of sight to the main entry doors. The project provides a modest addition with an accessible office, reception area, and lobby for visitors to pass through as they enter as well as site changes creating an accessible route to the front doors. In addition, a ramp is added on the east elevation to provide a safe exit from the garden level classroom.
