STUDY DESCRIPTION
The Wayzata Boulevard Corridor Study was commissioned by the City of Wayzata to transform Wayzata Boulevard from a typical suburban commercial retail strip into a safe, connected, active commerce center through multidisciplinary land-use, urban design, and transportation planning improvements.
VMWP was retained as the City Architect for the City of Wayzata to represent the interests of the city and provide urban design expertise during the Wayzata Boulevard Corridor Study. VMWP assisted city staff in the development of goals for the redesign and in reviewing and commenting on the design work undertaken by SRF Consulting. VMWP also served to extend staff capacity at monthly Corridor Steering Committee meetings, tabling during community outreach sessions, and developed simple perspective renderings to illustrate the technical drawings produced by SRF.
