Islais Place at 4840 Mission Street, will be one of the first major affordable housing developments in the Excelsior District in nearly 25 years. This unique mixed-use development fosters a sense of community through the establishment of much needed housing, a community serving clinic and by creating publicly accessible spaces and neighborhood links. This tour will highlight the publicly accessible areas of the development as well as look at the private and common areas and amenities within the building. The tour will include visiting individual units to better understand and demystify what affordable housing looks like, who it serves and how this development benefits the community.
